EMA Member wins big at Best Places to Work awards

The Aluro Healthcare NZ team celebrates winning the Micro Workplace category.

EMA Member Aluro Healthcare NZ was a winner in the inaugural Best Places to Work awards on Wednesday night in Auckland.

At the awards ceremony at the Cordis Hotel, the dental products and equipment supplier won the Micro Workplace category, for businesses with under 20 staff.

Aluro has been an EMA Member since 2005 and regularly attends Member Briefings and makes use of the legal AdviceLine service.

There were a number of other EMA Members that made the finalists’ list for the awards, including Axenic Ltd, Douglas Pharmaceuticals, Finance Now Ltd, George Weston Foods, Hynds Pipe Systems Limited, March Cato, Mytona, Nestlé, OneStaff, RML Machinery and Virtual Marketers.

John Fraser-Mackenzie, CEO of the EMA, says that New Zealand is brimming with innovative organisations that are doing remarkable things with their people.

“These awards shine a spotlight on those trailblazing companies, acknowledging their success and offering valuable insights for others to learn from.

“That’s why the EMA is so proud to be the Foundation Partner of the Best Places to Work awards. We are committed to supporting our members in engaging with this programme and elevating their employee experiences.

“The Best Places to Work initiative is a testament to how businesses can support and uplift one another, driving meaningful change across our work environments nationwide.”

The Overall Winner of the Best Places to Work awards went to fintech companies Tax Traders and Taxi, both founded by husband-and-wife duo Josh and Nicola Taylor.

The judges all agreed that Tax Traders and Taxi’s submission was faultless, and this was also reflected in their employee survey results.

The leadership team has made an undeniable commitment to their people, bringing joy to their professional and personal lives.

In what was an extremely tight context, it was the exceptionally high survey rating their employees provided that made the difference.

The Best Places to Work awards aim to inspire, recognise and celebrate businesses that are delivering extraordinary employee experiences and positive working environments.

Competition for the awards was fierce, with companies from all sectors and sizes taking part.
